Milford (Mel) Tesmer is a retired commercial building contractor who has combined his interest in architectural styles with his love of woodworking. Inspired by his trips to Europe and Scandinavia, many of his finely detailed birdhouses are modeled after Norwegian stabburs and European cottages.

Mel’s workshop is located in Neillsville, Wisconsin. He spends the winter months in the Florida Keys where he occupies himself deep sea fishing and carving fish and walking sticks.
